Earnings transparency

What you actually keep — the honest version.

From the customer's dollar to your bank account, every layer takes a cut. Here is the full pipeline, and how to model it.

The pipeline: from $100 spent to what you keep

  1. Customer spend. A fan buys tokens, a subscription, a clip or a private show.
  2. Platform cut. The platform keeps its share — ~50% on token cam sites, ~20% on fan platforms, ~40% on clip sales, 30–70% on premium sites.
  3. Agency cut (if any). A studio or manager takes a commission, commonly 30–50% (studio) or 10–40% (management), on top of the platform cut.
  4. Payout friction. Minimum payout thresholds, processing fees, currency conversion and hold periods delay and reduce what reaches you.
  5. Your costs. Equipment, software, marketing, internet and workspace come out of the remainder.
  6. Taxes. As self-employed income in most jurisdictions, taxes come out last — and are your responsibility.

What the evidence says about income spread

A 2020 US survey summarized publicly reported an average of about $4,470/month across webcam models working ~18 hours/week, and ~$11,250/month for those working full-time — with a spread from roughly $100/week at the bottom to six-figure annual incomes for a small top tier.

The variable that changes everything: effective hourly rate

“$X per hour” usually means paid live time only. Real working time includes preparation, messaging, content production, marketing and admin. Divide your net by all working hours and the number drops sharply — which is why we built the effective hourly rate calculator.

Scenario ranges, not promises

Hours onlineConsistency builds regulars; raw hours alone don't scale income.
TrafficPlatform choice, niche, tags and promotion drive how many paying viewers reach you.
ConversionSkill at turning viewers into tippers/subscribers — learned, not luck.
Private rateYour per-minute/per-message pricing, bounded by what your niche will pay.
Platform shareFixed per platform (see the database).
Agency commissionOptional, negotiable, contract-bound.
Payout fees & minimumsFrequent small payouts cost more; minimums delay access to cash.
Costs & taxesSelf-employment means these come out of your gross — plan for them.
